By Zoila Palma: Today, the San Ignacio and Santa Elena Town Council issued a statement clarifying that the recent Pre-Ruta Maya event held on March 5at the Macal Park, was not organized or managed by the Council.
“While the Council granted permission for the use of the venue, all entrance fees were determined solely by the event organizers and not by the municipality,” the council said.
However, the council says that despite not being the lead organizers, the council remains committed to the community and fully supported local vendors by facilitating their presence to sell food and drinks during the festivities.
