By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The San Antonio Village Council in Cayo is inviting volunteers to assist them in battling wildfires inside the Elijio Panti National Park.
The San Antonio Waterboard held a meeting with the forestry department, council and rangers.
They noted that the fire is about 800 meters away from their main water line.
Residents wishing to assist can gather at 6am at the Community center on Tuesday, May 7, 2024.
The forestry department will be proving necessary tools to extinguish or control the wild fire.
