Sadie Vernon High School beat St John’s College 3-1 in first leg of CSSSA Football Competition 3rd Place game

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Sadie Vernon High School won the first game of the Central Secondary Schools Sports Association (CSSSA) Football Competition Boys Semifinals 3-1 over St John’s College on Tuesday at the Marion Jones Sports Complex.

Sadie Vernon got off  to a blistering start as Devon Augustine scored the first goal of his hat trick in the 1^st minute. Augustine struck again in the 16^th and 41^st minutes.

Juan Diego scored for SJC in the 63^rd minute.

SJC, who finished in third place in the first round over fourth place Sadie Vernon, will have another opportunity for redemption when both teams meet again on Saturday in the second leg at 11:00 am.

In the Girls third place match, St Catherine Academy defeated Pallotti High School 3-1 as well on Tuesday.

Gwen Lizarraga High take on Wesley on Wednesday in the first leg of both the Girls and Boys Finals at 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm respectively.
