By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Sacred Heart College Hawks secured the first spot in the 2025–26 NSSSA Boys National Championshipl with a 2–1 victory over the Julian Cho Technical High School Warriors on Friday evening at the Marion Jones Sports Complex in Belize City.
The Western champions delivered a composed performance in a competitive semifinal, holding off a determined Julian Cho side to advance to Saturday’s 2:00 pm Boys Final. Julian Cho move into Saturday’s 10:00 am third‑place match.
Earlier today, defending girls’ champions Georgetown Technical High School opened the tournament with a 2–1 win over Our Lady of Mount Carmel High School, booking their place in Saturday’s 12:00 pm Girls Final. Mount Carmel will play for third at 8:00 am.
The tournament continues this evening with the second girls’ semifinal at 6:00 pm, featuring Belize High School of Agriculture against EP Yorke High School. The winners will face Georgetown Technical for the national title.
At 8:00 pm, defending boys’ champions Gwen Lizarraga High School meet Orange Walk Technical High School in the second boys’ semifinal.
All placement matches — both finals and third‑place games — will be played on Saturday.
