By Aaron Humes: Police are investigating an alleged kidnapping in northern Belize.
The 59-year-old complainant from San Lazaro Village, Orange Walk District, reported that on Monday, April 27, about 8:00 a.m., two acquaintances from the village arrived at her home to socialize. About 3:00 p.m., they decided to leave and asked her if she wanted to accompany them, to which she refused.
One of the acquaintances then dragged her into a vehicle against her will and took her to a bar in Yo Creek Village where they continued drinking. The two offered her drinks, but she refused, and they later physically assaulted her with a piece of board, causing her to become unconscious. Upon regaining consciousness, she discovered that her Samsung Galaxy phone valued at $500 and $720 cash were missing.
