By Aaron Humes: Police are investigating the murder of Steve Lewis, a 24-year-old delivery man of Dangriga Town, Stann Creek District.

According to police, Lewis’ decomposed body was found on Friday morning, around 8:30 a.m., off a feeder road from the Thomas Vincent Ramos (Southern) Highway near Silk Grass Village.

ASP Stacy Smith, Police Staff Officer, gave details: “Police are seeking one male person in relation to this investigation. I am not sure if the autopsy has been conducted already; it usually is when it is that the body is in an advanced state of decomposition; however, I can say that we suspect the cause [of death] to be a gunshot injury, given that an expended shell was found on the scene.”

Lewis had last been seen on April 13 around 8 a.m. by his common-law wife, leaving their residence for a delivery run. She reported him missing the following day, April 14.

Police say they are following up on the level of communication that he had during that time to see how that can assist with the investigation, as he was seen on video riding pillion on a motorcycle, then disappears thereafter.
