By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Captain Roshanny Narváez headlined the Premier Women’s League of Belize’s 2025–2026 Opening Season Awards on Saturday night, earning the league’s Most Valuable Player honor just hours after leading Napoles FC to the championship at the FFB Stadium in Belmopan.
The ceremony recognized the top performers of the season before both finalists received their medals and trophies. Napoles FC’s attacking duo dominated the scoring charts, with Jayda Brown claiming the award for Most Goals Scored after a standout campaign capped by her stoppage‑time strike in the Final.
Sagitun GIRLZ, the defending champions and this season’s runners‑up, collected two major individual awards.
Goalkeeper Jasmin Armstrong was recognized as the Best Goalkeeper, and veteran midfielder Sabrina Eiley earned Best Midfielder, reflecting their leadership throughout the campaign.
Corozal Elite FC also featured prominently. The club earned the Fair Play Award for sportsmanship and discipline, while defender Ximena Flores was named the league’s Best Defender following a consistently strong season at the back.
After the individual awards, the league presented the team honors.
Sagitun GIRLZ received the Subchampion medals and trophy, acknowledging their run to the Final, while Napoles FC lifted the PWLB championship cup for the first time in club history.

Napoles secured the title with a 2–0 victory over Sagitun GIRLZ. Captain Roshanny Narváez broke the deadlock in the 87th minute with a composed left‑footed finish after beating one defender. Jayda Brown sealed the championship in the 93rd, racing down the left, beating Jasmin Armstrong to the ball, and hammering her shot into the open net. The match ended at 96:24, confirming Napoles as the new PWLB champions.
