By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Napoles FC are the new champions of the Premier Women’s League of Belize, lifting the title on only their second season in the league after a dramatic 2–0 victory over defending champions Sagitun GIRLZ at the FFB Stadium in Belmopan.
For most of the Final, the match was a tense, physical battle defined by tight marking and disciplined defending. Napoles controlled long stretches through captain Roshanny Narváez, while Sagitun relied on the experience of Sabrina “Sabo” Eiley and the BWNT defensive pairing of Mikhaila Bowden and Shanté Chacón.
The breakthrough finally arrived in the 87th minute, and it came from the player who had been dictating the rhythm all afternoon.
Narváez drifted into the box, beat one defender with a sharp touch, and created just enough space to fire a left‑footed shot. The ball slipped just to the left of a defender on the line defender and into the net — a captain’s finish at the moment Napoles needed it most.

Sagitun pushed forward immediately in search of the equalizer, but their counterattack fizzled before troubling goalkeeper Angelica Lopez.
Napoles nearly doubled the lead moments later when Jayda Brown broke into the box in the 87th and pulled her shot wide to the right. Narváez also came close again in the 89th, sending a low effort inches wide of the far post.
The insurance goal finally came deep into stoppage time.
In the 93rd minute, Brown broke free on the left, beat goalkeeper Jasmin Armstrong to the ball, left her sprawled on the turf, and hammered her shot into the open net to make it 2–0 and send the Napoles supporters into celebration.

From there, Napoles managed the match with composure. By the time the whistle blew at 96:24, they were fully in control, closing out the Final with authority as Sagitun’s late push faded.
The final whistle confirmed it: Napoles FC are PWLB champions for the first time, completing the climb on just their second attempt and dethroning the defending champions in the process.
