By Zoila Palma: One of the most anticipated attractions of the National Agriculture and Trade Show 2026 is set to deliver high-energy action as the Rodeo and Livestock Show takes center stage during this year’s Agric.
Scheduled as part of the three-day national event running from May 1–3, 2026, the show forms a key component of Belize’s premier agricultural showcase, held annually at the showgrounds in Belmopan.
The event, organized under the Ministry of Agriculture, highlights innovation, sustainability, and the importance of agriculture to the national economy.
The rodeo segment promises to be one of the crowd favorites, featuring a range of traditional and competitive events. According to promotional material, spectators can expect:
Calf and bull riding
Barrel racing
Arena racing
Breakaway roping
Pole bending
Team roping
Tie-down roping
These events reflect Belize’s strong livestock and ranching traditions, while also providing entertainment for thousands of attendees who flock to the showgrounds each year.
Visitors can also explore livestock and crop exhibitions, commercial and industrial booths, food and cultural displays and live music and entertainment.
Agric 2026 is being held under the theme “Advancing Smart Agriculture: Building a Climate-Resilient and Sustainable Belizean Food System,” emphasizing innovation and long-term sustainability in the sector.
The rodeo activities are scheduled across May 2 and May 3, with gates opening at 11:30 a.m. daily and continuing until the final event of the day.
