Robert Liam Stewart delivered the team’s best performance of the day, placing 15th in the Masters C category with a time of 18:33.20. Stewart averaged 42.03 km/h, finishing 1 minute and 21 seconds behind stage winner Helmuth Alvernia of Team Isatex Cúcuta, who clocked a blistering 17:12.66.
Team captain Roque Matus, who had earned intermediate sprint points in Wednesday’s opener, placed 41st in the time trial at 19:30—2:18 off the winning pace. Ryan Willoughby rounded out the C category effort for MnM Engineering, finishing 66th in 21:09, trailing by 3:57.
In the Masters D category, Michael Wagner led the MnM Engineering contingent, placing 67th with a time of 22:37—5:19 behind Israel Antonio Ochoa of Asomaster Duitama, who won the stage in 17:18. Kenneth Butler followed in 70th at 23:36, 6:18 off the lead.
The D category saw a tightly packed leaderboard at the top, with Ochoa edging Hector Herrera of HH Estructuras Metálicas by just nine seconds. In contrast, the MnM riders faced a steeper time gap, but remained committed to the long game as the tour progresses.
Masters C Category:
1st Place: Helmuth Alvernia (Team Isatex Cúcuta) – 17:12 2nd Place: Enrique Quiñones (Aroma Pub Bici Strongman) – 17:18 (+6s) Best MnM Engineering Finish: Robert Liam Stewart – 18:33 (+1:21) – 15th place- Roque Matus – 19:30 (+2:18) – 41st place
- Ryan Willoughby – 21:09 (+3:57) – 66th place
Masters D Category:
1st Place: Israel Antonio Ochoa (Asomaster Duitama) – 17:18 2nd Place: Hector Herrera (HH Estructuras Metálicas) – 17:27 (+9s) Best MnM Engineering Finish: Michael Wagner – 22:37 (+5:19) – 67th place- Kenneth Butler – 23:36 (+6:18) – 70th place
Friday’s 90-km third stage will feature a road race with elevation changes that could favor climbers and tacticians. Matus, known for his resilience in multi-day tours, will be aiming to regain ground in the general classification, while Stewart and Butler continue to build on their form.
The Vuelta a Colombia Master 2025, which runs through September 7, has drawn over 400 cyclists from across Latin America.
