By Aaron Humes: Seaside Grocery on Craig Street, Belize City, was the scene of a robbery on Thursday evening. The incident occurred around 7:47 PM when two masked men entered the establishment, brandishing what appeared to be firearms.
According to reports from police, the victims, a 24-year-old cashier and the 32-year-old business owner were confronted by the assailants, who demanded money while threatening them with guns. One suspect wielded what was described as a .38 revolver, while the other held an object resembling a black 9-millimeter firearm.
The robbers stole approximately $1,000 in cash, a gold chain valued at $1,200, and a silver iPhone 15 Pro Max worth $3,800 before fleeing the scene in the direction of the Golden Bay Complex on Marine Parade.
Police quickly responded to the scene and investigators conducted a thorough examination of the area. Shortly after the incident police located a silver iPhone 15 Pro Max in an empty lot on Cumberbatch Street, confirmed to belong to the complainant.
Investigations continue.
