By Aaron Humes: A quiet afternoon at the Oil and Energy gas station on Lindo’s Alley turned chaotic when three masked men executed a brazen robbery shortly after 1 p.m. The ordeal unfolded as the pump attendant on duty attended to customers.
According to the attendant, the incident began when one of the suspects, wearing a bucket hat and a reflective vest, approached him requesting to purchase $5 worth of gas. As Rowland prepared to serve the customer, another suspect approached him from behind, brandishing what appeared to be a firearm and demanding, “Give mi weh yo got.”
The first suspect quickly grabbed approximately $641 from the gas station’s cash register, while the armed assailant snatched a gold chain valued at $650 from the attendant’s neck. A third accomplice also on the scene kept watch during the robbery.
Once the suspects had obtained their loot, they pedaled away from the premises on bicycles, disappearing into the neighboring streets.
Police responded and the search for the suspects is ongoing.
