By Aaron Humes: Police are guarding 19-year-old Ladyville, Belize District resident Cameron Myles, who is being accused of attempting to hold up Eric’s Supermarket on Bachelor Avenue, West Landivar, Belize City on Wednesday night.
Police responded to reports of a robbery just after 8:30 where it was learned that a suspect was shot to the left shoulder by a civilian who was inside the shop and transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for medical attention.
At the scene one .38 revolver was recovered. Initial investigations revealed that at about 8:30 pm a single male with a firearm entered the store and demanded money from the cashier. At the same time a civilian who was inside the store behind the counter fired three shots at the robber, injuring his left shoulder. The civilian is the holder of a valid firearm license.
Myles is stable in hospital as police investigation continues.
