By Breaking Belize News Staff: Police are investigating a daring daylight robbery that unfolded in Belmopan on Thursday, involving two men on a motorcycle.
According to reports, the incident occurred when a Caribbean Chicken delivery truck was approached by a motorcycle with two occupants. One of the men dismounted, swiftly entered the parked truck, and snatched a bag believed to contain goods or cash. But the crime didn’t end there.
Eyewitnesses say the suspect then ran into a nearby yard where he proceeded to rob another man. During the tense moments of the robbery, a gunshot was heard. It remains unclear whether the shot was fired as a warning or during a struggle, but no injuries have been reported at this time.
The suspect then ran back to the waiting motorcycle, hopped on, and both men fled the scene before police arrived.
The Belize Police Department has since launched an investigation into the incident. At this time, no arrests have been made, and officials have not confirmed whether the suspects are connected to another robbery that took place the same day in Belize City.
Police continue to review available footage and conduct interviews as the investigation progresses.
