Robbery attempt at Corozal’s Mo’s Supermarket foiled by quick-thinking employees

By Aaron Humes: On Sunday evening, a robbery attempt at Mo’s Supermarket in Corozal was thwarted by the swift actions of the store employees. The incident occurred shortly after 6:40 PM when 29-year-old Ryan Delgado entered the establishment brandishing a firearm.

According to Assistant Superintendent Stacy Smith, police were summoned to the scene following reports of the attempted robbery. “Our investigation led to the detention of Ryan Delgado, who was found in possession of a Khaki-colored Crossman brand air pistol, now secured as evidence,” ASP Smith reported.

Before he could execute his plan, vigilant staff and other merchants intervened, disrupting his attempt and preventing any theft from occurring.

Delgado allegedly was beaten by store employees trying to subdue him; ASP Smith noted that any discrepancies regarding his injuries would be thoroughly investigated. Delgado remains in custody.
