By Aaron Humes: Police are investigating a robbery that took place this morning, Saturday, at a hardware store.
The incident occurred around 9:00 a.m. at Pomona Hardware when a grey Nissan Murano SUV pulled up to the storefront. According to police reports, a male suspect, clad in a black hoodie and ski mask, exited the vehicle and entered the store brandishing a black .38 caliber revolver. He threatened the manager, demanding access to the cash register.
The assailant successfully extracted approximately $500 cash.
Two additional suspects, also dressed in black hoodies and ski masks, entered the premises, each armed with firearms. Together, they assisted in the heist, which also included the theft of two cell phones before the trio escaped.
Witnesses reported seeing the three men leave the hardware store and enter the grey Nissan SUV, which was parked on a nearby street. The suspects then fled the area, heading in the direction of Dangriga Town.
Police are urging anyone with information about the robbery or the suspects’ whereabouts to come forward.
