By Aaron Humes: This morning on Princess Margaret Drive in Belize City there was a robbery.
Details are not yet confirmed, but the victim is reportedly a staff member of a Belize City casino, who was driving a brown van, reportedly en route to deposit funds at Heritage Bank.
Two men on a motorcycle, one described as being stocky and the other slimmer, approached the vehicle. The assailants allegedly reached into the van and seized a black bag, presumed to contain money. They attempted to flee the scene on their motorcycle, but they lost control of the cycle near a pedestrian crosswalk, drawing attention to themselves when their transport hit the ground.
The suspects abandoned the motorcycle and escaped on foot. Police are investigating.
