By Zoila Palma: Prices for restaurant and accommodation services increased by 3.1 percent in March 2026 compared to the same month last year, according to the latest Consumer Price Index data released by the Statistical Institute of Belize (SIB).
SIB reported that the rise in this category was driven primarily by higher prices at restaurants and cafés, reflecting increased costs for dining and hospitality services.
The “Clothing and Footwear” category also recorded a 2.5 percent increase over the same period. This was largely attributed to higher prices for garments and footwear for men, contributing to the overall rise in consumer goods within the category.
