By Zoila Palma: As part of ongoing efforts to support rural livelihoods, representatives from the Resilient Rural Belize (RRB) program met with the Progressive Sugar Cane Producers Association to review the progress of the Backyard Garden Program.

The meeting was led by Project Manager Dr. Geraldo Flowers and Rural Development Officer (RODO) Hector Reyes.

During the session, updates were shared on the next phase of implementation.

In the coming days, beneficiaries in Belize’s northern districts will begin receiving materials needed to construct chicken coops — a key step before the distribution of baby chicks begins.

The program, aimed at strengthening food security and household income, will continue with similar rollouts across other districts in the weeks ahead.
