By Breaking Belize News Staff: A well-known Belize City man with a long criminal history was convicted in the Magistrate’s Court on Friday for possession of a crack pipe — his second conviction for the same offense.
Justin Steven Goff, 37, an unemployed resident of Marigold Lane, was brought before Magistrate Ludlow Black in Court #3 following his arrest on Labour Day, May 1, 2025. Police say Goff was found on Mahogany Street with a silver metal pipe, measuring 3.5 centimeters, which had been adapted for smoking crack cocaine.
Goff, who was unrepresented, pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined $200 plus a $5 court cost. He has until May 30, 2025, to pay the fine or face two months in prison.
Magistrate Black acknowledged Goff’s guilty plea and noted that, although he has a lengthy rap sheet, this was only his second conviction for pipe possession. The court considered his prior conviction and criminal history as aggravating factors but ultimately imposed a fine, citing the time saved by Goff’s early plea.
