Reminder of Ongoing Construction Works on a Portion of the George Price Highway from San Ignacio Town to San Jose Succotz Village

The Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Housing hereby reminds the public of ongoing works for the upgrading of a portion of the George Price Highway, from San Ignacio Town to San Jose Succotz Village. These works are necessary for the continued development of the highway to meet international standards and to improve accessibility and connectivity. 

As the project progresses traffic management will be implemented by flag personnel stationed within different sections of the work zone. To expedite the process, work will be ongoing during normal working hours as well as outside of normal working hours, including nighttime.

The public is advised to exercise extreme caution at all times when traversing this section of the highway. Drivers are asked to reduce speed, obey all traffic signs, and always follow the instructions of flag personnel to allow for easy and safe traffic flow. Do not overtake or speed within the active work zones, detours, and areas with loose gravel. Safety is our collective responsibility, and we must work together to make our roads safer for all users.
