By Jose Luis Cruz: Last night Breaking Belize News (BBN) reported that another person was shot in Belize City. The shooting occurred on Lakeview Street near the Ghost Town area of the city.
The victim was shot to the head in what appeared to be a targeted shooting. Video footage shared online showed the person lying motionless on the ground.
BBN has been reliably informed that the victim is on ‘Eric’, a Supervisor at a Call Center/Business Processing Overseas (BPO) business in Belize City. The full name of the victim has not yet been released by the police.
A work colleague of Eric posted about his death saying “I watched this video last night and couldn’t see the person. To get a call this morning saying it’s one of my agent has break my heart.”
According to the colleague Eric was a smart, humble young man. He was promoted to a supervisory position on Friday and was so happy to have received such a promotion. “I remember his last words to me saying…I won’t let you guys down. I appreciate this opportunity,” the colleague wrote.
BBN joins the nation in sending condolences to Eric’s family.
