By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Rangers and volunteers gathered today in San Antonio Village, Cayo to hike inside the Elijio Panti National Park to battle the wildfires.
On May 6, 2024, a collaborative meeting was held with the village waterboard director, a village council member, and a forest officer from the forestry department.
Key insights were shared regarding the optimal approach to extinguishing the wildfire.
The Belize Forest Department committed to providing firefighting tools.
Food was provided for all volunteers by Emir Quiroz and the Itzamna Society.
