Rainy and cold weather to begin the week as cold front crosses the country on Sunday night

By Hugh O’Brien: Beginning on Sunday and heading into Monday, rainy and cold weather is expected across the country. While the rain will subside by Monday afternoon, the cold weather will continue into the week.

The 6:00 pm forecast from the National Meteorological Service (NMS) says skies will be cloudy on Sunday night, and isolated thunderstorms will affect most areas of the country. The NMS says Monday is expected to be “windy, cloudy and cool” and “only light rain can be expected to affect Southern coastal areas and offshore early (Monday) morning”. The good news is that by Monday afternoon, the rain will taper off and little or no rainfall is expected.

Temperatures are expected to drop as low as 26 degrees Celsius (or 78 degrees Fahrenheit) along the coast and may reach as low as 16 degrees Celsius (or 60 degrees Fahrenheit) in the hills tonight. Monday’s highs will be 26 degrees Celsius (78 degrees Fahrenheit) along the coast while the high temperature in the hills will be 21 degrees Celsius (or 70 degrees Fahrenheit).

The cool weather is expected to continue into Tuesday and part of Wednesday.
