By Rubén Morales Iglesias: ⚽ The Premier Women’s League of Belize (PWLB) 2025–2026 Opening Championship rolls into Week 2 with a stacked Saturday triple-header featuring redemption bids, long-awaited debuts, and a battle for early supremacy across three venues in Belmopan and San Ignacio.

🔥 Jewel Fury FC vs Sagitun GIRLZ FC

🕓 4:00 pm

📍 FFB Stadium, Belmopan

Jewel Fury FC will be looking to bounce back from a tough 4–0 opening loss to Napoles FC. Their defense was exposed by Napoles striker Jayda Brown, who netted a second-half hat trick, leaving Jewel Fury with work to do on both ends of the pitch.

Sagitun GIRLZ FC, captained by Belize Women’s National Team leader Sabrina Eiley, will finally kick off their season after last weekend’s match against Cayo Dreamers was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch at the Michael Ashcroft Stadium In Independence. With Eiley’s leadership and tactical poise, the southern squad aim to make a strong first impression.

🌄 Cayo Dreamers FC vs Corozal Elite FC

🕓 4:00 pm

📍 Norman Broaster Stadium, San Ignacio

Cayo Dreamers are set to debut in front of their home crowd after missing Week 1 due to field conditions at the Michael Ashcroft Stadium. Their opponent, Corozal Elite, arrive with momentum after edging Jaguar Girls 2–1 in their opener, thanks to goals from Josefin Reyes and Kaite Jones.

With Corozal sitting second in the standings, Cayo will need to be sharp defensively and assertive in midfield to match the visitors’ early-season rhythm.

🌙 Jaguar Girls FC vs Napoles FC

🕕 6:00 pm

📍 FFB Stadium, Belmopan

The nightcap features league leaders Napoles FC, fresh off a dominant 4–0 win over Jewel Fury. Jayda Brown’s explosive scoring and Jinnelle Pott’s early strike have set the tone for a team brimming with attacking confidence.

Jaguar Girls, meanwhile, showed promise in their narrow 2–1 loss to Corozal Elite, with Jahxann Waight scoring early. To challenge Napoles, the Jaguars must stay compact and disciplined while finding ways to disrupt the leaders’ rhythm.

With three compelling matchups across two venues, Saturday’s PWLB action promises intensity, tactical battles, and early-season drama as teams chase points and positioning in the Opening Championship.
