The Premier Women’s League of Belize (PWLB) 2025 Opening Championship Regular Season wraps up Wednesday at the FFB Stadium in Belmopan, with two decisive matches set to determine the final standings before the playoffs begin.
The final round was reshaped after the Cayo Dreamers FC officially withdrew from the tournament. As a result, their remaining matches — including fixtures against Jewel Fury FC and the Jaguar Girls — have been cancelled.
Final Round Fixtures – Wednesday, December 3
FFB Stadium, Belmopan
- Corozal Elite FC vs Napoles FC – 6:00 PM
- Sagitun Girlz FC vs Jaguar Girls – 8:00 PM
Playoff Picture Already Set — But Top Spot Still in Play
With all teams having completed nine matches except the Jaguar Girls (who will be awarded their ninth due to the Dreamers’ withdrawal), the top four teams have already secured playoff qualification:
- Napoles FC – 24 points
- Sagitun Girlz FC – 22 points
- Corozal Elite FC – 17 points
- Jewel Fury FC – 12 points
However, the top seed is still up for grabs. Should Corozal Elite defeat Napoles and Sagitun Girlz win their match, the reigning champions Sagitun Girlz would leapfrog Napoles to claim first place with 25 points — one ahead of Napoles.
Any other combination of results — including a draw or loss by either Corozal or Sagitun — would keep Napoles FC at the summit heading into the playoffs.
Dreamers Exit Leaves a Void
The withdrawal of Cayo Dreamers FC, who had conceded 83 goals without scoring in eight matches, marks a sobering end to their campaign. The team had struggled to field full squads in recent weeks, and their exit reshaped the final round and standings but didn’t affect the ranking. Jewel Fury, originally scheduled to face the Dreamers tonight, will now close the regular season in fourth place with 12 points.
Tonight’s matches will not only determine the top seed but also set the tone for the playoffs. With Napoles, Sagitun, Corozal, and Jewel Fury all preparing for the next stage, fans can expect a competitive finish to the PWLB Opening Championship.
