By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The PUP Mayoral Candidate for San Ignacio and Santa Elena, Matthew Preston has since responded to accusations made the UDP saying that Preston allegedly orchestrated the vandalism of UDP banners.
Preston has since responded calling out the UDP for “current baseless and fraudulent accusations made against me by operatives of the United Democratic Party.”
“I would like to inform the nation and more importantly the residents of the Twin Towns that I did not have anything to do with the defacing or vandalism of any paraphernalia of the opposition party,” Preston added.
In addition, Preston called on the UDP to provide meaningful evidence that proves that he was the one who did such acts.
“They have engaged on ongoing slander and trying to diminish my good standing within the community with no proof and I will be seeking legal recourse if no proof is submitted within 24 hours,” Preston explained.
Preston says he is saddened by the opposition’s “meaningless banner wars”.
“I remain committed to continue being the voice of the marginalized and advocating for real change and accountability within the Town Council,” Preston stated.
