By Horace Palacio: In a public statement released on Monday, popular artist Punta Star Hubee (real name Huston Alvarez Jr.) has issued a formal apology addressing a domestic incident that occurred on Thursday, September 26th, 2024, in Dangriga Town. The incident, which involved the artist and his common-law partner, has attracted widespread public attention after details of the altercation became known.
In his official statement, Punta Star Hubee expressed deep remorse over the incident, describing it as a “private matter” that was unfortunately made public. He took full responsibility for his actions, acknowledging that they were out of character, and expressed regret for the impact the situation has had on his partner, their families, and his supporters.
“I take this time to publicly express my deepest and most sincere apologies to my common-law for putting her in this very difficult and unfortunate situation,” Hubee stated. “I hereby hold myself fully accountable for acting out of character, and I wish to reassure the general public that this is NOT who I am as a person.”
The artist went on to condemn any form of violence against women, men, and children, stating his commitment to personal growth and using his platform to help others who may be struggling with similar issues. He also extended apologies to both his partner’s family and his own for the distress caused by the incident.
“To the family of my common-law, as well as my very own family, my sincere apologies to all of you, for causing any damages to the good name of our families,” he added.
Hubee concluded his statement by thanking those who have reached out with support and affirmed his intention to put the matter behind him while working towards becoming a better person and member of the community.
