By Aaron Humes: The Public Utilities Commission (PUC) has formally introduced a new logo, a significant update to its identity that showcases the organization’s growth and modern approach to utility regulation. This fresh emblem emphasizes the PUC’s dedication to transparency, accountability, and the provision of safe and affordable services to consumers.
The redesign comes as the PUC seeks to adapt to the dynamic landscape of the utility sectors it oversees – energy, water, and telecommunications. Each color in the new logo has been intentionally chosen to represent these key areas: telecommunications is highlighted by orange symbolizing innovation and connectivity, while the energy sector is represented by green which reflects sustainability and national progress. The water sector is illustrated with blue which convey trust, stability, and the importance of life-sustaining resources. White is used to signify the PUC’s foundational principles of transparency and accountability.
Dean Molina, Chairman of the PUC, commented: “The new PUC logo symbolizes our evolution as a forward-looking, accountable regulator that drives change in the respective utility sectors and aligns with industry best practices within the region and world.”
The new logo aligns with the Commission’s vision to continually advance as a proactive regulator by integrating industry best practices that sync with Belize’s broader development goals. It also reaffirms the PUC’s commitment to its five core values: accountability, excellence, integrity, innovation, and professionalism.
In the coming weeks, stakeholders and the public can expect to see the new logo integrated across all platforms, publications, and communications from the PUC.
