Protected Areas Conservation Trust coordinates 2-day consultation session for BSIF

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On May 7, 2024, the Protected Areas Conservation Trust (PACT) coordinated a two-day stakeholder consultation session for the Belize Social Investment Fund (BSIF).

The consultation session was for the development of a Grant Award Mechanism as part of the accreditation support from the Green Climate Fund (GCF)under the project “Enhancing Access for Climate Finance Opportunities, through pre-accreditation support to the Belize Social Investment Fund (BSIF) and Ministry of Economic Development-Belize and technical support for Belize National Protected Areas System (BNPAS) Entities, Belize.”

Through this project, BSIF will strengthen its institutional structure and capacity to be able to mobilize climate financing from the GCF to support social investment projects, especially in rural areas.
