By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On December 5, 2024, CEO Valentino Shal attended a signing ceremony for the Participation, Ownership, and Sustainable Progress for Economic Resilience (PROSPER) project launch.

PROSPER is a four-year initiative focused on the southern district of Belize.

The Ministry of Rural Transformation noted that by promoting sustainable local economic development with an emphasis on women and young persons, PROSPER will empower rural communities to build economic resilience, foster entrepreneurship, and enhance skills development in a participatory approach.

With a budget of BZD $8.9 million, funded by the European Union, the project was signed by Dr. Joni Musabayana, Director of the International Labour Organization – Caribbean Office.

The project will be executed in collaboration with the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the Ministry of Rural Transformation, Community Development, Labour and Local Government.
