By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Progresso FC have officially booked their place in the Clash of the North Final, demonstrating consistency in the Northern Champion of Champions Classic. Their qualification was confirmed after a 0-0 draw against Calcutta Bulls on June 8 at the Carolina Football Field in Carolina, Corozal. That result, combined with their dominant 3-0 victory over Sarteneja FC the previous week, secured them the top spot in the standings.
Despite failing to break the deadlock against Calcutta Bulls, Progresso’s earlier commanding win ensured their path to the final. With a balanced defense and clinical attack, they now set their sights on the championship match.
The final showdown is set for June 15, 2025, at People’s Stadium in Orange Walk. Progresso FC will face San Jose Pumas, with the winners claiming a $2,000 cash prize, while the runners-up take home $1,000. The event is backed by FFB President Sergio Chuc, the Orange Walk Town Council, the Corozal Football Association, and the Orange Walk Football Association.
