By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Orange Walk First Division football competition delivered another thrilling weekend of action, with teams battling for supremacy in the 2024-2025 Closing Championship.
In Group A, Progresso FC maintained their perfect record, securing a 3-2 victory over the LA Tigers. The win keeps Progresso at the top of the standings with 12 points, solidifying their status as the team to beat. Their undefeated streak has put them in firm control of the title race.
Meanwhile, TF Legends edged San Jose with a 2-1 victory, propelling them to six points and securing their position among the mid-table contenders. San Jose, however, continues to struggle, sitting near the bottom of the standings with just one point after four matches.
Sunday’s action saw Sandy Field Wolverines FC secure a hard-fought 1-0 victory over San Estevan Soccer Team FC, keeping themselves within touching distance of Progresso. With 10 points, Sandy Field remain just two behind the leaders.
San Estevan Soccer Team FC, locked at six points, remains competitive, matching TF Legends in the battle for positioning. At the bottom of the table, LA Tigers FC remain winless after four matches, with zero points and a goal difference of -9, struggling to turn their season around.
