By Breaking Belize News Staff: A 19-year-old Princess Hotel machine attendant, Demetri Maxwell Jenkins, is out on bail after being charged with handling stolen goods. Jenkins, a Belize City resident, was found in possession of a stolen bicycle, leading to his arrest.
The allegations against Jenkins stem from an incident on August 23, 2024, when he was accused of assisting in the retention of a 26-inch male Beach cruiser bicycle valued at $250. The bicycle belonged to 74-year-old Jacques Mee Hervais Babet, a retired electrician from Belize City.
Jenkins appeared before a Senior Magistrate in Court #6, where he pleaded not guilty to the charge. He was granted bail in the sum of $1,000, which he successfully met. Jenkins is scheduled to return to court on September 27, 2024, as the case proceeds.
