By Zoila Palma: As October — Breast Cancer Awareness Month — comes to a close, Prime Minister John Briceno showed solidarity with survivors and advocates by wearing pink, the color that has become a global symbol of strength, hope, and unity in the fight against breast cancer.
The gesture, though simple, carried a powerful message of compassion and awareness. “The month ends, but not the fight, the faith, and the hope that lives on,” the Prime Minister said, emphasizing the importance of continued education, early detection, and community support for those affected by the disease.
Throughout October, government ministries, organizations, and citizens across the country participated in awareness campaigns.
Health officials continue to urge regular checkups and self-examinations, noting that early detection significantly improves survival rates.
