By Zoila Palma: As the PUP and UDP prepares their municipal slates gearing up for the 2027 municipal elections, Prime Minister John Briceno has indicated that the PUP will fight for the Mayoral and councilor seats in the Twin Towns.
During an appearance on Vibes on May 20, 2026, PM Briceno said, “San Ignacio and Santa Elena, we ah fight for this, we are coming. Mayor Trapp and I are good friends. He is a good friends but he is on the wrong side. We are coming for that,” the Prime Minister said.
PM Briceno said that the 3 Area Representatives have decided that they are working toward 1 goal to win the municipal elections in San Ignacio and Santa Elena.
But, can they unseat 4-term Mayor Earl Trapp?
The voters will ultimately decide.
