By Aaron Humes: Prime Minister John Briceño has officially sworn to bear true faith and allegiance to Belize (not to its Head of State); uphold the Constitution and the law; and do right to all manner of people without fear or favour, affection or ill-will.
Addressing the audience thereafter, he repeated his call to keep “hubris” in check and called on his colleagues to keep him grounded as the Prime Minister if he begins to show such hubris.
He also repeated his pledge that despite international challenges and changes he is called on to serve the Belizean people and make their lives better.
