Prime Minister engages with students in Belize City

By Zoila Palma:  Prime Minister John Briceño paid a special visit to primary schools in Belize City on February 11, 2026, stopping at Unity Presbyterian School, St. Ignatius, and St. Joseph Primary.

The Prime Minister said February marks the midpoint of the school year and an important time to connect with schools.

“February signals about the midpoint of the school year. Today, I dropped in to visit students of Unity Presbyterian School, St. Ignatius and St. Joseph Primary Schools. The hugs, smiles and cheers always re-energize me,” Briceño said.

He added that the visits allowed him to speak directly with teachers and administrators about their needs and challenges in the classroom.

The Prime Minister emphasized that education remains a national priority under his administration.

“Education is a central pillar of Plan Belize 2.0 — accessible and affordable education for all children in Belize,” Briceño said.
