By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Prime Minister John Briceño departed Belize today, Sunday, February 22, 2026, to attend the Fiftieth CARICOM Heads of Government Meeting in St. Kitts and Nevis.
Accompanying the Prime Minister are Francis Fonseca, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, Education, Culture, Science and Technology; H.E. Amalia Mai, Chief Executive Officer; and H.E. Lawrence Sylvester, Ambassador to CARICOM.
The high-level regional meeting will bring together leaders from across the Caribbean Community to discuss matters of regional integration, economic cooperation, and shared challenges.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to return to Belize on Sunday, March 1, 2026.
During his absence, Deputy Prime Minister Cordel Hyde will hold over as Prime Minister.
