By Horace Palacio: The Office of the Prime Minister has announced that Prime Minister John Briceño is on an official visit to Guatemala, where he is heading a Belize delegation for important trade talks.
The discussions are aimed at enhancing trade relations between Belize and Guatemala, focusing on key areas such as agriculture, energy, and cross-border commerce. This visit is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the economic ties between the two neighboring countries and to explore new opportunities for collaboration.
Prime Minister Briceño is expected to return to Belize on Tuesday, August 27, 2024. In his absence, Cordel Hyde, Minister of Natural Resources, Petroleum, and Mining, will assume the role of Acting Prime Minister.
The Belize government is hopeful that these talks will lead to agreements that will benefit both nations and contribute to the economic development of Belize. Further details on the outcomes of the trade talks will be shared as they become available.
