By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today, Prime Minister John Briceno broke ground for the construction of the San Pedro General Hospital.
Prime Minister Briceño was joined by Minister of Health and Wellness Kevin Bernard, Area Representative for Belize Rural South Andre Perez and Taiwan Ambassador Lily Hsu.
Residents of San Pedro and Caye Caulker also participated in the ceremony to mark the occasion at the future home of the health facility.
This historic milestone is a testament to the Government of Belize’s commitment to improving and delivering quality and affordable healthcare to residents of both islands.
