By Zoila Palma: On September 13, 2025, members of Echo Company, First Infantry Battalion of the Belize Defence Force (BDF) participated in the National Service Day Clean-Up Campaign and Tree Planting Initiative in Trial Farm Village, Orange Walk District.
The event, hosted by the Belize Youth Movement – Orange Walk Chapter and sponsored by the Department of the Environment, brought together soldiers, Prime Minister John Briceno, local organizations, and youth volunteers.
Participants worked side by side to clear garbage, plant trees, and beautify the Trial Farm Park area, promoting a cleaner environment and fostering community spirit and patriotism.
The BDF’s involvement highlighted its commitment to environmental stewardship and civic engagement.
Beyond its core defense duties, the BDF continues to support initiatives that strengthen national development and encourage civic pride across Belize.
