By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Over the weekend, Prime Minister John Briceño, Minister of Agriculture Jose Abelardo Mai, Minister of State for Finance Chris Coye, and Minister of Health Kevin Bernard met with the Shipyard Community.

During the meeting, the Shipyard Community presented a petition requesting that the ongoing paving of the Guinea Grass road be extended to the entrance of Shipyard.

In response, the Prime Minister expressed gratitude for the community’s contributions to Belize’s economy and assured them that funding for the road extension would be provided.

PM Briceño also praised Minister Mai for his efforts in the Ministry of Agriculture.

The meeting was attended by various village chairmen from Orange Walk South, residents of nearby communities, and around 300 members of the Shipyard community.
