By Zoila Palma: Prices for some vegetables including okras, carrots and tomatoes increased in February 2026, according to the latest data from the Statistical Institute of Belize (SIB).
SIB figures show that tomatoes recorded the steepest rise, increasing by 28 percent, followed by okras at 13.2 percent and carrots at 11 percent.
Broccoli or cauliflower also saw a notable increase of 12.5 percent.
Meanwhile, some vegetables like lettuce decreased by 7 percent, Irish potatoes fell by 3.8 percent, and onions dropped by 2 percent.
Cucumbers remained relatively stable with a slight decrease of 0.6 percent, while plantains saw a sharper decline of 10.1 percent.
Meanwhile, corn prices showed minimal movement, rising marginally by 0.6 percent.
