By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The WestLine Premier Women’s League of Belize (PWLB) is back this weekend for Week 7 with three must-watch fixtures that will shake up the title race and the fight for playoff spots.
Sagitun GIRLZ vs. Jewel Fury FC
Saturday, 6:00 pm | Michael Ashcroft Stadium, Independence
This is the key match for the title race. Second-place Sagitun GIRLZ (13 points) desperately need a victory to stay within striking distance of the undefeated leaders, Napoles FC. They cannot afford to drop points. Jewel Fury FC (6 points) will be fighting tooth-and-nail for the upset.
Napoles FC vs. Jaguar Girls
Sunday, 4:00 pm | Isidoro Beaton Stadium, Belmopan
League-leaders Napoles FC (18 points) put their perfect record on the line against the energetic Jaguar Girls (4 points). While Napoles is the heavy favorite, the young Jaguars—built around the U16 National Team—have proven they are dangerous spoilers with momentum after securing a surprise 2-2 draw in Week 6.
Corozal Elite vs. Cayo Dreamers
Saturday, 3:00 pm | Carolina Football Field, Corozal District
Third-place Corozal Elite (11 points) look to cement their spot in the top three and potentially climb higher by securing a decisive win. They face a struggling Cayo Dreamers side that is still searching for their first points and first goal of the season. For Corozal, it’s a crucial opportunity to boost goal differential; for the Dreamers, it’s a battle for pride and a chance to reset their entire campaign.
