Premier Women’s League of Belize Week 7: Sagitun GIRLZ’s Jolene Aranda, Napoles’ Jayda Brown whip out hat tricks

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Week 7 of the Premier Women’s League of Belize (PWLB) delivered a flurry of goals across three matches, with standout performances from Corozal Elite, Sagitun GIRLZ, and Napoles FC.
The weekend’s top scorers included Sagitun GIRLZ’s Jolene Aranda and Napoles FC’s Jayda Brown, who each pulled hat tricks out of their magic bags, while Corozal Elite’s Kaite Jones, Ximena Flores, and Josefin Reyes converted braces of their own. All six players helped power their teams to decisive victories, lighting up the scoreboard and keeping the title race alive.
Corozal Elite 6–0 Cayo Dreamers (match abandoned)
Corozal Elite earned a 6–0 victory over Cayo Dreamers on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the Carolina Football Field in Carolina Village, in a match that was halted when the Dreamers dropped to six players on the field — below the minimum required by FIFA regulations. At the time of abandonment, Corozal had already scored six goals, so the result stands as played rather than defaulting to a 3–0 forfeit. Despite Cayo’s short-handed lineup, Corozal’s attacking trio made the most of their chances:
Ximena Flores – Min 8, 40- Kaite Jones – Min 31, 36
- Josefin Reyes – Min 38, 44
The win anchors Corozal’s third-place rank with 14 points and a +24 goal differential. Currently, Corozal sit nine points ahead of fourth place Jewel Fury.
Sagitun GIRLZ 5–0 Jewel Fury FC
Sagitun GIRLZ kept pace in the title race with a clinical 5–0 win over Jewel Fury on Saturday at the Michael Ashcroft Stadium in Independence. The defending champions, led by BWNT captain Sabrina Eiley, showed their championship mettle despite a turbulent preseason that saw key players — defender Jaysha Bernardez and midfielder Ashey Rodriguez — transfer to Napoles FC just a week before kickoff.
Their Week 7 performance was a statement of intent. Spearheaded by Belize Women’s National Team captain Sabrina Eiley, the Sagi GIRLZ dominated possession and converted chances with ruthless efficiency. Jolene Aranda led the charge with a hat trick, supported by goals from Primille Hope and Kenya Perez:
- Jolene Aranda – Min 10, 14, 47
- Premilie Hope – Min 24
- Kenya Perez – Min 70
With 16 points and a +30 goal differential, Sagitun GIRLZ remain five points behind Napoles and firmly in the hunt.
Napoles FC 5–1 Jaguar Girls
Napoles FC continued their unbeaten run with a 5–1 triumph over the youthful Jaguar Girls on Sunday at the Isidoro Beaton Stadium in Belmopan. The league leaders have built a formidable squad this season, going on a massive shopping spree that brought in not only Bernardez and Rodriguez — both former Sagitun GIRLZ standouts — but also top PWLB striker Khalydia Velasquez from Jewel Fury, adding even more firepower to a forward line that already included Jayda Brown. Oh, and Napoles are also led by none other than Belize Women’s National Team midfielder Roshanny Narváez, whose leadership has anchored the team’s midfield dominance.
Jayda Brown starred with a hat trick, while Velasquez and Heidy Lopez added late goals to seal the win:
- Jayda Brown – Min 41, 51, 80
- Khalydia Velasquez – Min 73
- Heidy Lopez – Min 90+1
- Tiffany Cal (Jaguar Girls) – Min 10
Napoles now sit atop the standings with 21 points and a +35 goal differential, continuing their dominant run and showing no signs of slowing down.
