By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Sagitun GIRLZ are ready to host Napoles FC Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. at Michael Ashcroft Stadium in Independence in the second and definitive Final of the Premier Women’s League of Belize 2024-2025 Championship. Fresh from a dynamic 2-0 victory in the first leg at the Isidoro Beaton Stadium in Belmopan, the Sagitun GIRLZ are riding high as the clear favourites.
The stage is set for a thrilling championship final. The battle for glory is about to ignite!
Road to the Finals
Sagitun GIRLZ have been dominant throughout the season, remaining unbeaten with a strong defensive record. They secured their spot in the finals with a 24-0 aggregate victory over Cayo Dreamers in the semifinals, including a 13-0 win in the second leg, where Jolene Aranda scored an incredible double hat trick.

Napoles FC, on the other hand, had a tougher path to the final. They edged out defending champions Jewel Fury with a 3-2 aggregate win in the semifinals. Roshanny Narváez played a crucial role, scoring the winning goal in the first leg and adding another in the second leg alongside Jinnelle Pott.
First Leg Recap
In the opening leg of the finals last Sunday, Sagitun GIRLZ defeated Napoles FC 2-0 at the Isidoro Beaton Stadium in Belmopan—Napoles’ home turf. Aranda and Jasha Bernardez struck early, securing a comfortable lead for Sagitun GIRLZ heading into the second leg.
What’s at Stake?
With a two-goal advantage, Sagitun GIRLZ are in prime position to claim their first PWLB championship. Napoles FC, however, will be fighting to overturn the deficit and pull off a dramatic comeback in front of the home crowd at Michael Ashcroft Stadium in Independence.
