Fresh off a commanding 2–0 win over defending champions Sagitun GIRLZ on Saturday at the Michael Ashcroft Stadium in Independence, the Belmopan club took to social media on Monday to celebrate their rise to the summit of the Premier Women’s League of Belize (PWLB).
“Top of the table is where we are! We have worked hard to reach the top and we hope to keep the momentum going for the rest of the season!” Napoles FC posted, echoing the pride and determination that have fueled their perfect start to the 2025–2026 Opening Championship.
Saturday’s clash was billed as a test of mettle, and Napoles passed with flying colours. Roshanny Narvaez opened the scoring in the 12th minute, and Khalydia Velasquez doubled the lead just five minutes later, silencing the home crowd and stamping Napoles’ authority early.
But it wasn’t just the attackers who shone. Napoles also credited their goalkeeper’s heroics in a second post.
“With two tremendous saves, Dennisa Pineda ensured that the team kept a clean sheet and the win!” Napoles said. Her performance between the posts was pivotal in securing all three points and preserving Napoles’ perfect record.
With four wins from four matches and a staggering +28 goal difference, Napoles now sit alone atop the PWLB standings with 12 points, ahead of Corozal Elite (10 points) and Sagitun GIRLZ.
For Sagitun GIRLZ, the loss drops them to third with seven points, and while the season is still young, they’ll need to regroup quickly to stay in contention.
Napoles, meanwhile, are riding high. Their Monday posts weren’t just celebrations—they were declarations. Declarations of intent, of unity, and of belief that this season could be theirs.
Week 4 also saw Corozal Elite defeat Jewel Fury 3–1, while Jaguar Girls routed Cayo Dreamers 7–0, but all eyes remain on Napoles—the new leaders, the giant-slayers, and the team to beat.
