By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Corozal Elite delivered a commanding performance at the Carolina Football Field in Carolina, Corozal, defeating Jewel Fury 5–1 to strengthen their hold on third place in the Premier Women’s League of Belize 2025–2026 Opening Championship.
Corozal wasted no time asserting themselves, as Kaite Jones struck in the 4th minute to put the home side ahead. Dania Johanna Villa doubled the lead in the 40th minute, giving Corozal a comfortable cushion before halftime.

After the break, Jewel Fury pulled one back through Shameka Lambey in the 55th minute, briefly raising hopes of a comeback. But Corozal quickly reasserted control: Josefin Reyes scored in the 64th minute, followed by Jones’ second goal in the 70th, stretching the lead to 4–1. Reyes then capped off the rout with her second goal in the 90th minute, sealing a dominant 5–1 victory.
The win lifts Corozal Elite to 17 points from five wins, two draws, and two losses. Jewel Fury, meanwhile, remain in fourth place with nine points from three wins and six losses.

In effect, Corozal’s emphatic win secures their third‑place finish and gives them valuable momentum heading into the playoffs. Despite the loss, Jewel Fury have locked in fourth place.
With the playoff picture practically set, only one round of fixtures remains in the regular season after all teams have played nine games each. The only exception is the pending clash between Jaguar Girls and Cayo Dreamers, rescheduled for Wednesday, December 3. The Jaguars — essentially the U26 Belize Women’s National Team — are currently competing in Managua, Nicaragua at the 2025 UNCAF U26 FIFA Forward U16 Girls Championship, delaying their domestic fixture.
