By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Sagitun GIRLZ surged past Jaguar Girls with a commanding 6–0 victory on Saturday afternoon at the FFB Stadium in Belmopan, vaulting into second place in the Premier Women’s League of Belize (PWLB) standings on goal difference.
Jolene Aranda opened the scoring with a first-half brace in the 17th and 27th minutes, giving Sagitun a 2–0 lead at the break. The second half saw a relentless attacking display: Kenya Perez struck in the 64th, 81st, and 82nd minutes to complete a rapid-fire hat trick, while Sabrina Eiley added a composed finish in the 75th minute.
The win lifts Sagitun GIRLZ to ten points (3W–1D–1L), level with Corozal Elite but ahead on goal difference. With 20 goals scored and just three conceded, Sagitun now boast a +17 differential—ten goals better than Corozal’s +7.
Given Jewel Fury’s 11-0 rout of the Cayo Dreamers, Jaguar Girls dropped to fifth with three points (1W–0D–4L), having now conceded 22 goals in five matches.
The result shows Sagitun’s attacking depth and growing momentum as the season reaches its midpoint. Kenya Perez’s second-half surge and Aranda’s early brace highlight a team firing on all cylinders.

Sagitun GIRLZ will look to build on their momentum in Week 6, while Jaguar Girls face mounting pressure to stay in playoff contention.
